Weekly Prayer October 1, 2018

O God, we have heard of the deeds you have done in the past. With your own hand you drove out your enemies and you planted Israel in the promise land. You toppled tyrants and set your people free. Not by their own power or wisdom did they achieve anything. Their arm did not save them but you did, by the light of your shining face, for you delighted in them. And so we say, You are our King, O God, you ordain salvation for your people. Through you we push through all adversity. Not by our strength or expertise can we be saved but in you alone do we trust. We give thanks to your name forever and wait upon your word even now.
